Opening Medal Well done to James Moss for winning the season opening medal in division 1 with a nett 74. Vice President and former RGC Captain Nigel Clay topped the bill in division 2 with an excellent nett 72. Steve Cullen, Opening Club Supper champion, stole the spoils in division 3 with nett 75, beating Mark Kitching on a countback.
Texas Scramble Shotgun Sunday saw a full field of 18 teams for the Texas Scramble Shotgun. I was lucky enough to join the winners circle with Mark Drumm, Robert Angell and Simon Whyte, managing a score of 56.1. The competition was played in great spirits, Texas Scramble is a great format and good fun was had by all. A huge amount of credit really must go to our superb greenkeeping team here at RGC, Karl Williams and his team have done a tremendous job, presenting our course in truly fine condition, especially considering all of the recent irrigation works. The course looks set to be in great shape for the oncoming season.
James Robinson James Robinson had yet another good result in the elite Amateur event, The Hampshire salver, played at Blackmoor GC first 2 rounds and North Hants GC rounds 3&4. James finished tied 15th with scores of... 71 - +2, 70 - +1, 69 - E, 73 - +4 A very good start to the season for James.
