Early retirement recommended
In case you were in any doubt, retirement is good for your golf. As Janice Kerr proves by having an outstanding season. Her more recent successes have come with fellow RGC Members Viv and Jon Cranton.
Partnering Viv, she has reached the finals of the Daily Mail Foursomes competition, triumphant through 7 knockout rounds, our ladies are in the final sixteen. They travel to Slaley Hall Hotel, Northumberland to compete in the finals on 6th – 8th October 2019. Best of luck, ladies!
Not to be left out, Jon Cranton partnered Janice to win the County Mixed 4BBB competition at Kings Norton GC last week.
Well played both.
Our Janice will be needing her own trophy cabinet soon!

The Offspring Open...
A massive well done to Robert and Callum Angell who won the Offspring Open, The Frank Powell Trophy on Sunday. This is the third year the pair have won the trophy, the first victory coming way back in 2005 when Callum was only 14!
The event was brilliantly well supported, with a full field of 27 pairs, most of which were visiting players from other clubs. The event really embraces the true spirit of golf and is a fantastic family event. Long may it continue!

The Final Bogey
An excellent turnout for The Final Bogey on Saturday saw some excellent scoring, though Rob Wood's super score of plus 7 was the best on the day. Kieran Evans, Chris Hannah and Rob Wood all earn themselves a place on the honours boards for winning their respective divisions... |
Most improved…
Things are hotting up in the race to win the Most Improved Golfer Trophy...
Can Mr. Duggins be caught?

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. |
Standings will be finalised after the Harold Webb Trophy/Maiden Plate medal on the 5th October. You will be contacted to confirm you can play but if you are close, please keep the date free!

Goodbye laces. Hello Boa Technology in today's golf equipment continues to amaze us year-on-year, but it's not just our clubs that are making strides in the tech department. Believe it or not, golf shoes are some of the most advanced products in the market thanks to the evolution of the Boa Fit System, which is replacing traditional laces. Not only does it fasten your shoe, but when the Boa dial is on the heel of your shoe, it pulls your foot back and down to provide the perfect fit for extreme comfort and stability out on the course. |

This might sound a little complicated but just give us a chance on this one... Urethane vs Ionomer? Both are materials used on the cover of golf balls but what is the difference between them and how does each affect your game? |
Callaway Chrome Soft - Urethane cover You'll usually find that balls at the premium end of the market, like the Chrome Soft and Chrome Soft X, have Urethane covers due to its noticeably softer feel and fantastic feedback, which is why they're the go-to choice for many Tour pros.
|
Callaway ERC Soft - Hybrid cover Admittedly, the ERC Soft has a unique cover that is combines the benefits of Urethane and Ionomer. What that means is that you can expect a very soft feel combined with exceptional distance, which tends to be a perk of Ionomer balls. |
